Kids Needs of Greater Englewood
EIN: 35-2361844 · Placida, FL
Our Story
On a cold afternoon in February 2009, Ann Dever encountered her neighbor, Marcia Louden, who was then the principal at L.A. Ainger Middle School. Marcia shared the heartbreaking reality of local children suffering during the economic downturn. Many kids wore shoes with holes, lacked proper winter clothing, and often went hungry due to financial struggles at home. Moved by this plight, Ann, despite her terminal cancer diagnosis, rallied a group of compassionate individuals, including local businessman Tom Dignam, to establish Kids’ Needs of Greater Englewood. Although Ann passed away in October 2009, her legacy continues to inspire the organization’s mission to support children in need.
