Founded in Oxford, UK in 1984 and brought to the US in 1992, Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (KEEN) began as a single program in the Greater DC area. Today, it has expanded to cities across the United States, including Chicago, Los Angeles, St. Louis, San Francisco, New York, and Phoenix. KEEN is dedicated to providing free recreational opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities by pairing them with trained volunteers for fun, non-competitive activities.
In 2023, KEEN Chicago served 144 unique athletes through over 1,800 active program hours, reflecting a remarkable 29% growth from the previous year.
