About Kevin’s Community Center

Founded in 2002 by Dr. and Mrs. Z. Michael Taweh in memory of their son Kevin, Kevin’s Community Center (KCC) addresses the healthcare crisis faced by uninsured and underinsured adults in Newtown, Bridgewater, and Roxbury, Connecticut. The center emerged from a grassroots effort that united local government, businesses, and community members to ensure that everyone has access to necessary medical care.

Impact of KCC

To date, KCC has provided over 5,000 patient visits and delivered more than $2,500,000 in free medical care, including specialty care referrals. This commitment to community health has only grown, especially during challenging times such as the 2008 financial crisis, when patient visits surged.
