La Vida Nueva, formerly known as the Kern County Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, was established in 1984 to provide vital prevention and treatment programs for Hispanic women. Recognizing the growing need for inclusive services, the organization expanded its reach in 2016 to serve all individuals in Kern County. In 2024, La Vida Nueva rebranded to reflect its commitment to helping individuals from diverse backgrounds with substance use disorders.
