Our Story
The Kern County 999 Foundation was established in memory of Deputy William “Joe” Hudnall, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on November 14, 2006. In the wake of this heartbreaking event, fellow officers rallied together to raise nearly $17,000 in just two weeks to support his four children. This powerful response led to the creation of the Kern County Officer Down Support Ride, dedicated to honoring fallen officers and providing financial assistance to their families. Since its inception in 2007, the foundation has supported over 50 officers and department volunteers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
