The Kentucky Mansions Preservation Foundation was established in 1968 to safeguard Kentucky's rich history. In 1977, after extensive fundraising and restoration, the Mary Todd Lincoln House became the first house museum in the nation dedicated to a First Lady, welcoming visitors to explore her legacy.
