Every faith tradition shares a common vein of 'love thy neighbor.' This sense of stewardship extends beyond providing for immediate needs; it encompasses caring for the planet that sustains us all. Kentucky Interfaith Power and Light (Kentucky IPL) is dedicated to mobilizing faith communities in Kentucky to respond to climate change through education and action. Since its inception in 2007, Kentucky IPL has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the environmental impacts of our energy systems and consumption habits.

Making a Tangible Impact

Kentucky IPL has consulted with numerous congregations on integrating solar energy into their houses of worship, leading to successful installations in seven faith communities. Thousands of houses of worship across the nation, including 16 in Kentucky, have embraced solar energy, showcasing their commitment to environmental stewardship.
