Our Story

On June 12, 2017, tragedy struck when Chad Nathan Harrell, a beloved son, brother, and friend, took his own life. In his memory, the 'Keep the Spark Alive' Foundation was established, inspired by Chad's lacrosse nickname, 'Spark Plug'. What began as a scholarship fund for graduating lacrosse players has transformed into a vital organization dedicated to funding innovative mental health programs in Blue Valley and surrounding school districts.

Our Impact

The foundation is committed to preventing teen suicide by supporting initiatives that create change in mental health support and honoring Chad's legacy.
