Our Story

The Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust (KVPT) was founded in 1990 to protect the rich architectural and urban heritage of the Kathmandu Valley. This region is home to a unique concentration of significant architecture, extending beyond its seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Today, development pressures threaten not only individual monuments but also the future of public spaces and urban life.

Impact

Over the past three decades, KVPT has successfully saved more than 90 monuments, including temples, shrines, and palaces. Major campaigns like the Kathmandu Darbar Initiative and the Earthquake Reconstruction Campaign have been pivotal in preserving this heritage.

Make a Difference Today
