About Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra

The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra (KSO) has a rich history that began with the vision of Mrs. Leta G. Snow, a dedicated civic leader. Since its inaugural concert in 1921, KSO has evolved into a cornerstone of the Kalamazoo community, featuring over 80 professional musicians under the direction of Music Director Julian Kuerti. The orchestra not only performs but also actively engages with the community, collaborating with local organizations to inspire and educate through the arts.

Impact of KSO

Each season, KSO reaches more than 50,000 patrons through live performances and educational programs. With a commitment to music education, the orchestra performs for over 37,000 local students annually, fostering a love for music and cultural enrichment throughout Southwest Michigan.
