Our Story
Kabul Small Animal Rescue began as a grassroots initiative to address the urgent needs of stray animals in Kabul. Formally registered as a veterinary clinic in 2019, KSAR has since expanded its mission to include vital programs such as trap-neuter-vaccinate-release (TNVR) for felines and care for K9 working dogs. Throughout the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, KSAR remained committed to rescuing and transporting animals to loving homes in North America and Europe. In 2021, as the NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan approached, KSAR worked tirelessly to evacuate animals and local staff, successfully transporting 286 rescue animals to Canada in January 2022, all funded by generous donations from supporters worldwide.
