Founded in 2006 by Vivian Glyck, Just Like My Child Foundation collaborates with communities in central Uganda to enhance healthcare, education, and personal safety. With a focus on empowering women and children, JLMC has positively impacted over 200,000 lives across 96 rural communities. The innovative Girl Power Project® equips adolescent girls with essential skills to stay in school and avoid early pregnancy, breaking the cycle of poverty and disease.
As of 2019, JLMC has reached over 6,000 girls through the Girl Power Project curriculum, resulting in significant improvements in knowledge and self-esteem. With 92% of participants able to explain how pregnancy occurs and 93% reporting increased self-worth, the program fosters community awareness and advocacy for girls' education and rights, creating a safer environment for all.
