Founded in 2006, JustFundKY was established to create an endowment aimed at promoting fairness and equality for LGBTQ Kentuckians. Rather than running programs directly, the organization focuses on supporting community groups that are actively fighting for LGBTQ rights across the state. The initial goal was to raise one million dollars, which was successfully achieved through the dedication of volunteers and generous corporate partners. This milestone allowed JustFundKY to begin awarding annual grants from its earnings, ensuring that the principal remains intact while the earnings are utilized to support impactful projects.

Impacting Lives Across the Commonwealth

With a current endowment of $2 million, JustFundKY has granted $577,000 to 71 community organizations since 2011. The organization has made a significant impact in every county in Kentucky, raising awareness of LGBTQ issues and supporting initiatives that foster a more just and joyful society. In 2023 alone, JustFundKY awarded $57,724 to various projects, including Drag Queen Storytime and other LGBTQ events, demonstrating a commitment to community engagement and education.
