Our Story

Founded in 1937 by Lorine Jones Spoots and a group of twelve dedicated young women, the Junior League of Corpus Christi began as the Junior Assistance Club. This pioneering group established the Central Index Bureau, a vital resource that later evolved into the United Way. By 1944, the Junior League of Corpus Christi was officially recognized as part of the Association of Junior Leagues of America, joining a network of 296 leagues across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and England. Over the decades, the League has remained steadfast in its commitment to the community, investing countless volunteer hours and significant financial resources into various programs that uplift and support the residents of Corpus Christi.
