Our Story
In 1931, 61 visionary women in Columbus, Georgia, founded the Community Service League, dedicating their time to improve their community. By 1936, the League became a proud member of the Association of Junior Leagues of America, uniting with women across the nation to foster positive change through volunteerism. Today, the Junior League of Columbus boasts over 750 active and sustaining members who contribute more than 5,000 hours of service annually.
Impact
The Junior League of Columbus has played a pivotal role in numerous projects that enhance the quality of life in the community. Notable achievements include the establishment of the first pediatric wing at the City Hospital, the creation of children’s playrooms at the Medical Center, and the launch of Columbus’ first registered diaper bank.
