Our Story

Founded in November 1925 by Miss Louise Hankinson and a group of dedicated young women, the Junior League of Augusta began as the Junior Workers. This organization has evolved over the decades, growing from 11 charter members to a vibrant community of 73 by 1929. Recognized for its commitment to addressing community needs, the Junior League has made significant contributions, including the creation of the first Junior League cookbook and initiatives focused on nutrition and historical preservation.
