Our Story
The Junior League of Akron, founded in 1923, began as the Junior Charity League with a mission to make a difference in the community. With roots in the Babies Aid Society of Children’s Hospital, it became a part of the Association of Junior Leagues International in 1926. Today, the Junior League of Akron is dedicated to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and enhancing communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
