Our Story

The Jule Foundation was founded by Andre Hursey, who grew up in the Woodhill Public Housing Apartments in Bloomington, Illinois. Inspired by his mother’s dedication to uplifting children in their community, Andre carried her legacy into adulthood. His involvement with local organizations like the Boys and Girls Club and the Linc Center fueled his passion for serving youth. This passion led to the creation of the Jule Foundation, named after his middle name, Jule, honoring his aunt’s influence.

Our Impact

The Jule Foundation empowers minority students through academic tutoring, college preparation resources, and workshops. By closing the achievement gap, the foundation fosters a love for learning and creates opportunities through scholarships, internships, and mentorship programs.
