Our Story
In March 2013, a transformative idea emerged at a conference for adoptive and foster moms in Atlanta, Georgia. This moment sparked the creation of Joy in the Journey, a ministry dedicated to connecting, educating, and encouraging foster and adoptive mothers. The inaugural retreat took place in February 2014, welcoming 60 attendees at a remote retreat center in southwest Missouri. Since then, the ministry has flourished, expanding to 300 attendees at a hotel and conference center in Kansas City, drawing participants from across the United States and Canada.
Joy in the Journey is committed to serving adoptive and foster moms, providing a space where they can experience the love of Jesus and build meaningful connections with like-minded individuals. The ministry remains dedicated to its mission, guided by the Holy Spirit, and is excited to continue its work within the foster and adoptive community.
