Funding International Journalism
Supporting Under-Reported Stories

Our Story

The John Alexander Project was founded in 2010 to honor a friend and colleague by launching up-and-coming international reporters to under-reported locations through the Above the Fray fellowship, operated jointly with NPR. The fellowship has successfully sent ten fellows abroad from 2010-2019 and resumed operations in 2021, with fellows reporting from various international locations.

Our Impact

The John Alexander Project funds 100% of the stories brought to air by its fellows, contributing to quality journalism and highlighting under-reported stories globally.
