Our Story
Learning that a child is suffering from a life-threatening illness is one of the darkest days in any parent's life. The emotional turmoil and helplessness can be overwhelming, especially when faced with the financial burden of treatment. This was the reality for Joey Bella's family in 1986 when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia. Despite the efforts of friends and family to raise funds for a bone marrow transplant, Joey tragically passed away before he could receive the help he needed. In honor of Joey, his family and friends established The Joey Bella Memorial Fund to provide financial assistance and emotional support to families in Denville and surrounding areas who are navigating the challenges of caring for a seriously ill child.
