Our Story

The Joan Trumpauer Mulholland Foundation, established in 2013 by Emmy-winning filmmaker Loki Mulholland, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the legacy of Joan Trumpauer Mulholland. This foundation was born from the urgent need to educate students about the Civil Rights Movement, highlighted by the reactions of college students to Loki's documentary, 'An Ordinary Hero.' Through films, DEI training, books, and educational resources, the foundation strives to end racism and empower communities.

Impact

By focusing on education, the foundation aims to empower students, educators, and communities with resources that foster understanding and empathy. The goal is to elevate the African-American experience and realize Joan Trumpauer Mulholland's vision for a just society.
