Our Story

Established in 1954, the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles was founded by visionary Jewish leaders to build permanent resources for the community's future needs. Over the decades, it has grown to manage charitable assets of approximately $1.1 billion and has distributed over $1 billion in grants to thousands of nonprofits across a diverse spectrum.

Impact

The Foundation has significantly impacted various social issues in the Greater Los Angeles area and beyond, distributing over $1 billion in grants to more than 2,000 nonprofits. In 2020, it committed over $8 million for COVID-19 relief to 54 nonprofits, marking the largest amount ever earmarked by the institution for a single cause.
