Jerusalem Peacebuilders

Our Story

Founded in 2011 by Rev. Nicholas and Dorothy Porter, Jerusalem Peacebuilders (JPB) was established on the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks to address the urgent need for peacemaking in the Holy Lands. JPB began by partnering with an international organization to create a leadership camp for American, Israeli, and Palestinian youth. Over the years, JPB has expanded its programs to include in-school leadership courses and summer institutes, focusing on interfaith dialogue and peacebuilding among diverse youth.

Impact

JPB has successfully engaged youth from diverse backgrounds in leadership and peacebuilding programs, fostering relationships and skills necessary for future leaders. The organization has expanded its reach to over thirty schools and has held multiple summer institutes, even adapting to challenges posed by the pandemic to continue its mission.
