Our Story
The history of Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens is a heartfelt journey that began with H. Lawrence and Elisabeth Phillippe Jenkins. Their passion for horticulture blossomed on a 20-acre property, which became a sanctuary for nature. Following Elisabeth's passing in 1963, Lawrence established the Elisabeth Phillippe Jenkins Foundation, ensuring the land would be preserved as a public park and wildlife sanctuary. Officially opened in 1976, the gardens have since evolved into a vibrant botanical garden, offering diverse collections and educational programs.
