Crisis Assistance

About Jazz Bridge Project

Founded in 2004 by professional jazz vocalists Suzanne Cloud and Wendy Simon, Jazz Bridge Project was established to provide essential support for jazz and blues musicians facing crises in the Greater Philadelphia Metro Area. Witnessing the struggles of fellow artists, Cloud and Simon sought to create a sustainable safety net that would offer more than just temporary relief. By assembling a community of musicians and fans, Jazz Bridge has developed a unique model that not only assists musicians in need but also raises public awareness about the rich tradition and current state of jazz and blues music.

Impact of Jazz Bridge

Since its inception, Jazz Bridge has confidentially assisted over 300 local musicians with a variety of needs, including medical, dental, and legal aid, as well as advocacy services, home repairs, and unpaid bills. This organization serves as a vital resource, connecting performers to additional support systems while ensuring they can continue to enrich the cultural landscape of Philadelphia.
