Transforming Lives: The Jail to Jobs Story

Founded in 2009, Jail to Jobs began its journey by offering Bible studies in juvenile detention facilities. Witnessing the profound desire for change among the youth, it became evident that a more comprehensive approach was necessary to combat the alarming recidivism rates. By integrating employment-based mentoring into its programs, Jail to Jobs provides a pathway for these young individuals to find purpose and personal growth.

Most of the dedicated staff at Jail to Jobs are ex-felons themselves, allowing them to connect with the youth on a personal level. Through this unique mentorship, participants earn a paycheck while acquiring essential skills, learning to budget their finances, and addressing their basic needs such as meals, housing, clothing, and transportation. The program emphasizes the development of strong character traits, enabling youth to make informed decisions, build self-respect, and maintain stable employment.

In addition to practical skills, Jail to Jobs fosters emotional and spiritual growth through free counseling, mentorship, and Bible studies, all supported by local businesses and the community.

Impacting Futures

Nationally, 75% of offenders return to jail after release. However, less than 15% of those who complete the Jail to Jobs program reoffend, showcasing the program's effectiveness.
