Our Story

The Jacksonville Woodlands Association is a grassroots organization founded by concerned citizens to protect the Beekman Woods and other significant woodland areas in Jacksonville, Oregon. Established through the dedication of local residents, including children from Jacksonville Elementary School, JWA has successfully acquired and maintained approximately 255 acres of scenic woodlands and historic sites. This community-driven effort emphasizes environmental stewardship and the importance of preserving natural spaces for future generations.

Our Impact

With a commitment to enhancing community access to nature, the Jacksonville Woodlands Association has preserved over 255 acres of woodland habitat and historic sites. The organization has constructed nearly 16 miles of hiking trails and implemented various educational projects that promote environmental awareness among residents and visitors.
