Our Story

The Library Foundation of Jacksonville was established in 1986 to honor Andrew Carnegie's commitment to libraries. This foundation plays a crucial role in nurturing and enhancing the Jacksonville Public Library's services and resources for the community.

Impact

Through various fundraising events, the Foundation has raised significant funds, including over $4,000 for the JaxKids Book Club and $20,137 from the Hello to Hemingway event. A historic $1 million grant from the Mellon Foundation has further empowered the Jacksonville Public Library to serve its community.
