The Jackson Optimist Charitable Fund, Inc. has been a cornerstone of the Jackson community since its inception in 1984. Originally a Charter Member of Optimist International in 1940, the organization has evolved to serve the community through the Optimist Ice Arena. In 1985, the arena was generously donated, and in 1996, the Twice the Ice project was launched, significantly expanding the facility to include a year-round ice surface.
