Our Story
The Jackson Interfaith Shelter, founded in 1974 by Beverly Garges and a coalition of dedicated individuals, has been a beacon of hope for those experiencing homelessness in Jackson, Michigan. Rooted in Christian values, the shelter initially focused on men struggling with chronic alcoholism. Over the years, it has expanded its services to include women and families, addressing the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of the community.
Impact
Last year, the shelter provided over 15,000 nights of lodging and served more than 59,000 meals.
