Our Story

Founded in 1988, Jobs Have Priority, Inc. began as a Job Club at the Federal City Shelter in downtown Washington, DC. A dedicated group of business professionals aimed to provide mentoring and supportive services to help residents find jobs and achieve self-sufficiency. Officially incorporated in 1989, JHP has evolved to focus on addressing basic needs and providing education and employment services for those transitioning from homelessness.

Impact

This year, JHP has provided shelter for 235 men, women, and children, assisting over 209 individuals into permanent housing. Additionally, 200 clients gained employment, with 174 maintaining their jobs after a year.
