About iUrban Teen
Founded in October 2011 by Deena Pierott, iUrban Teen addresses the need for equitable education systems for youth historically excluded from STEM careers. Operating in Washington, Oregon, California, and Texas, the program focuses on providing career-focused education to underrepresented teens aged 12-18, particularly targeting African American, Indigenous, Latine, and Pacific Islander students.
Impact
iUrban Teen provides hands-on exposure and training in various careers, community service, and civic engagement, helping historically minoritized teens to challenge their boundaries and succeed as STEM+Arts scholars.
