Since 1980, the Isle of Wight County Humane Society has been committed to caring for and promoting the rights of animals. Founded by a small group of passionate individuals, IOWCHS began as a rescue group to support the Isle of Wight County Animal Shelter and local pet owners. In 1999, it became a 501c3 nonprofit organization, focusing on fostering animals and providing essential medical assistance.
IOWCHS has significantly improved the lives of countless homeless and unwanted animals through foster care, medical treatment, and adoption services. The organization also offers spay/neuter assistance and medical grants to pet owners in need, ensuring a healthier community for pets.
Every pet assisted by IOWCHS costs an average of $800.00 a month. Donations are vital for funding lifesaving programs, including pet foster care, spay/neuter initiatives, and medical grants for those in need.
