The purpose of the Isle of Wight County Historical Society is the social and educational advancement of its members and others in the community, with the objective of learning more of the history of the people, homes, sites and events of the county and state of Virginia from their post Colonial beginnings in the early 1600s as the first English colony as well as the indigenous people in the region before and since.
