Island ETC, originally the Strand Street Theatre, has been a cornerstone of Galveston's arts community since the 1970s. After the devastation of Hurricane Ike, the theatre reopened in 2009 in the historic Strand Theatre building, a site with a rich history dating back to the Storm of 1900. With 5 to 6 productions staged each year, Island ETC is committed to delivering professional theatrical performances that enrich the local culture.
