Our Story

In the fall of 1982, a dedicated community group recognized the need for a before and after-school center in Irvington. This initiative led to a comprehensive survey in February 1983, confirming the demand for school-age childcare. The Center began its journey in rented space at Irvington Middle School and later expanded to St. Barnabas Church due to increasing enrollment. Under the leadership of Nancy Rote for 19 years, the Center has become a warm and friendly environment, offering a vital alternative for children after school.

Impact

Since its inception, the Center has grown significantly, now serving nearly three times the number of children compared to its early years, showcasing its success in addressing community childcare needs.
