The Main Place began as a grassroots initiative in 2006, founded by Sharon Johnston to address the urgent needs of homeless students in the Irving Independent School District. Officially opening its doors in December 2009, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity has evolved to support not only homeless teens but also their families and victims of domestic violence.
With only 1 in 4 teenagers experiencing homelessness graduating high school, the need for support is critical. The Main Place aims to change this narrative by providing essential resources to those in need.
