Able Up Iowa

Our Story

Able Up Iowa was established in 1993 by a dedicated team from the Iowa Program for Assistive Technology (IPAT) to help individuals of all abilities achieve independence. Over the years, the organization has evolved its programs, reaching thousands across 55 of Iowa's 99 counties. In 2019, a collaboration with community experts led to the development of growth plans, which were realized with a substantial grant in 2020. This funding enabled the launch of Financial Solutions and Financial Empowerment programs, providing long-term financial support to Iowans. In 2022, a partnership with Iowa Community Capital significantly expanded their lending program.

Impact

Thanks to generous community support, Able Up Iowa has lent over half a million dollars in the past five years, helping individuals achieve financial independence and stability.
