About Invisible Wounds Project

The Invisible Wounds Project was founded to address the urgent mental health needs of veterans, first responders, and their families. After experiencing the struggles of PTSD firsthand, the founder recognized a significant gap in resources available for those who serve our communities. With a mission to improve lives and mental health, IWP connects individuals with specialized therapists and offers wellness activities that foster social connections.

Our Story

In 2016, after 17 years in public safety, the founder faced a personal crisis due to PTSD, which led to a profound realization: many first responders were suffering in silence without adequate support. This prompted the creation of the Invisible Wounds Project in 2018, evolving from a tribute to veterans into a dedicated initiative aimed at helping those who protect us. The organization focuses on the unique challenges faced by veterans and first responders, ensuring that their families are also supported in the healing process.
