Our Story
The International Student House movement began in the early 1900s with Dr. Waldo Stevenson’s vision in Philadelphia. Established in 1936 by a group of Quakers, the International Student House of Washington, DC has grown from accommodating 18 students to nearly 15,000 young adults from over 140 countries. This vibrant community promotes peace and understanding among diverse nationalities.
