Our Story
The International School of Brooklyn (ISB) was founded in 2005 to create an intimate and multicultural setting with a balanced and challenging academic program. The journey began in 2003 when a group of dedicated parents envisioned an independent language immersion school. After receiving its operational charter from the New York State Department of Education in 2004, ISB piloted language immersion playgroups in various Brooklyn neighborhoods. By September 2005, ISB launched its preschool program with 16 students, and within two years, enrollment surged to 65 students, prompting a move to a larger facility. Today, ISB proudly serves 386 students from Pre-K 3 to 8th Grade in Carroll Gardens, continuing to foster a love for languages and learning.
