Our Story

The International Partnership for Human Development (IPHD) was founded in 1983 to empower individuals and communities to achieve their true potential. By focusing on economic, social, and cultural self-development, IPHD addresses the root causes of poverty through grassroots initiatives. This approach fosters partnership and solidarity, moving beyond traditional donor-recipient dynamics. IPHD believes that through collaboration, poverty and hunger can be eradicated, leading to a more equitable world and enhanced understanding among diverse communities.

Our Impact

From 1996 to 2006, IPHD successfully managed 22 USDA Food for Progress agreements across seven countries, delivering over 100,000 metric tons of food aid valued at nearly $80 million. This initiative directly benefited over 1.3 million marginalized individuals, with an additional 1.6 million receiving indirect support. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of IPHD's commitment to integral human development.
