InterFaith Health Center
EIN: 58-1947641 · Knoxville, TN
Our Story
In the fall of 1989, Mary Leslie Simpson Dotson convened a group of community leaders to address the pressing healthcare needs in Knoxville. This gathering led to the formation of a twelve-member steering committee, comprising healthcare providers, religious leaders, and social service professionals. With a $250,000 grant from the State of Tennessee, a building was transformed from a meat market into a comprehensive health care facility. On March 6, 1991, InterFaith Health Center opened its doors, and since then, it has provided over 400,000 patient encounters to more than 24,000 hardworking East Tennesseans.
