The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health was established in 2019 to combat health disparities among disadvantaged and underserved minority populations in Mississippi. By fostering community-based partnerships, the Institute utilizes a health equity framework to develop culturally appropriate solutions.
To date, the Institute has provided 200 students with COVID-19 PPE Kits and has initiated various health programs aimed at reducing health disparities among African Americans in Mississippi.
