Our Story

The Institute for Multi-Stakeholder Initiative Integrity (MSI Integrity) was established to address the urgent need for an independent organization dedicated to assessing the effectiveness of multi-stakeholder initiatives (MSIs) in safeguarding human rights. Incubated at the International Human Rights Clinic at Harvard Law School from 2010 to 2012, MSI Integrity officially launched in 2013, focusing on empowering workers and communities while challenging traditional corporate structures.

The organization’s landmark report, 'Not Fit-for-Purpose,' critiques the limitations of MSIs and advocates for greater accountability in the private sector regarding human rights and environmental protection.
