Our Story

The Institute for Fisheries Resources was established in 1993 by the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Associations to address the fishery research and conservation needs of working fishing men and women. IFR is committed to protecting and restoring fishery resources and the communities that depend on them.

Impact

By uniting resource stakeholders, IFR protects fish populations and restores aquatic habitats through advocacy and cooperative efforts among commercial fishing groups, conservation organizations, and government agencies.
