Our Story

Inquilinos Unidos originated from the tireless efforts of Dino Hirsch, a retired machinist and union organizer, who championed tenant rights in the Pico Union district of Los Angeles from 1979 until his passing in 1988. Following his legacy, a dedicated group of housing activists established Inquilinos Unidos in November 1988 to continue advocating for tenants in need.

Our Impact

Inquilinos Unidos has successfully secured over $11 million for tenants through litigation and has played a pivotal role in organizing tenants to demand better housing conditions, leading to significant policy reforms.
