Our Story

Founded in 2019, the Indo US Organization for Rare Diseases emerged from a collective vision of community leaders dedicated to serving the rare disease community. Recognizing the critical need for global cooperation between the East and West, the organization aims to drive the development of new therapies for rare diseases. With only 10% of the world’s population engaged in orphan drug development, the organization seeks to bridge the gap, ensuring that diverse patient populations benefit from innovative treatments.

Impact

IndoUSrare has made significant strides in connecting over 20,000 patients across 50+ countries, representing more than 500 rare diseases. The organization has hosted 25 global events and engaged with 30 speakers at 14 conferences, providing vital policy inputs to the US FDA and Indian Government on data sharing and diversity.
