Our Story
IndigenousWays was founded in 2007 by Tash Terry, a Diné from the Navajo Nation, and Elena Higgins, of Maori/Samoan descent from New Zealand. Initially known as Indigie Femme, this dynamic duo aimed to empower Indigenous women through music. Their journey revealed a universal need among Indigenous communities for the integration of culture, spirituality, and community. By harnessing the power of music, storytelling, and the arts, IndigenousWays was born to raise awareness and support for these vital communities.
